Hasan Kıran is an artist born in 1966 in Doğanşehir, Malatya.
Hasan Kıran is an artist born in 1966 in Doğanşehir, Malatya. In 1993, he graduated from İnönü University. From 1995-97 he studied in Germany, before going on to recieve his MA degree from Hacettepe University in Painting in 1998.
From the year 2000, he became a research assistant for the faculty of Fine Arts at Yüzüncü yıl University, and then went on to study Traditional Japanese Woodblock Printing Art at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts. Proceeding from there, he went on to graduate with a Rotary Education Scholarship in 2005, which then fuelled his passion to further enroll in their graduate program.
From 2008, Hasan recieved his PhD with his Visual Thesis dissertation on Shamanistic İmages. Following on from this, in 2009 he became a fine art faculty member in the Yüzüncü Yil University, and then went on to become the associate professor in the following year.
In 2012, Hasan won a TUBİTAK grant for his postdoctoral study for research on Contemporary Woodblock Printing Tecniques form Musashino Art University, based in Japan, Tokyo.
Since 2013, Hasan has been working as a professor specifically in the department of painting within the Faculty of Fine Arts, at the Hacettepe University.
Speaking on his inspirations, Hasan's says that, "Shamanistic symbols and music have a healing side, and their transition through art is an important adventure. I believe in the power of positive energy, and I am to communicate this through my artistic practice."
