The Story
Anamorphosis I is a year long and evolving intervention in the forest of Trélex, Switzerland. Consisting of logging tape carefully wrapped around a 1000 young and old trees, the ribbons mark the intersection of a horizontal plane with the forest.
An anamorphosis is a phenomenon whereby the visual perception of an object is fundamentally changed with the position of the observer. Here, the horizontal line only comes together when the viewer is at eye level with the ribbons. The perception of the work is further altered when the viewer is informed that the playful tape is fact used for industrial logging and made from petrol in Texas.
In addition to the work available through H&E, this artist has an extensive portfolio available on request. Please contact us at service@harrisanderelart.com for a copy.
