Yaw's artistic practice is deeply sourced by the idea of human value and the refinement use of colours and its reconnection to humanity. There are always two meanings to his artwork plus the meaning the viewers always give. He treats art as a proverb, parables (which hides truth on that idea that when the viewer is ready for the truth they will find it) allegories, storytelling, shapes, characters/objects (such as animals, plants, nature, forms, patterns,) and the use of colours (as a communication tool, signal action, influence mood). The characters, objects, and the use of colours are the subjects but the principles behind the artwork are to influence the viewers on the concept that in every follower there is a hidden leader that is yet to discover themselves. (Self-discovery)
His artistic oeuvre has not over a patch of many years, shifted from art in the service of storytelling but also into experimental research and the understanding of the value of colours and its impact on human behaviour, the talks on purpose of life, and leadership. The artwork is not only the pursuit to capture and freeze beauty but to paints ideas, thoughts, the questions of life such as Who am I? (Identity) Where am I from? (Source) Why am I here? (Purpose), What can I do? (Potential) and Where am I going? (Destiny). These questions are the source of human motivations and actions on the earth, they are the source of all the corruption, problems, crimes, it motives all our actions whether good or bad. Unless one can truthfully answer these questions, we are someone else someone has prescribed for us.
The purity of his approach to aesthetics or beauty is an intriguing invitation to explore an eclectic colourful language. Yaw's work draws viewers into a resplendent world of visual journeys where artistry and character go hand in hand, kind of an eclectic taste.
He breaks all colours rules to define all colours rules. Strongly believing all colours compliment each other; one just has to know what they are doing. Take a look at nature, it consists of the many colours at a given time and they work beautifully.
