"The title of this painting comes from an essay written by Dave Hickey where he reminisces about his time living in Las Vegas. When I finished this piece and saw how bright the main flower turned out, I instantly thought of that phrase. I may be depicting scenes from nature, but I believe the duality between honesty and fakery is still present." - Alejandra Morales Garza.
