An unframed 170 x 150 cm original artwork by Coskun Demirok.
The Story
An abandoned factory, a hall, a storage ruins, we don’t know what kind of architecture it is. There is something, a subtile beauty that inspires us in such spaces. This series shows places, locations which certainly do not exist as illustrated. But we mean to know them, it is as if we have been there or seen them once. They could be defined also as „imaginary realities“.
I prefer to paint this kind of scenes in a monochromatic and documentation-like manner to reach an impression of the past. The rough acrylic prime coat on canvas enables also strong brush marks which accompanies the content of the painting.
