What I know - The Original
An unframed 200 x 145 cm original artwork by Coskun Demirok.
It's about thinking about one's own choices. I love to paint in an accidental way. I love the surprising reactions of the colours on a canvas which has a rough structure. Not knowing what to expect is a fascinating way of making arts. It’s comparable to a Jazz improvisation. At the end the intuition led artist to this result. In this case it was a calm and sensitive response of the painted surface. And this is the sincerity of the art making.
It is painted in the manner of a huge drawing. According to my personal mentality I always used to work very fast and energetic. I painted with oil colours, changed to acrylics and experienced a lot. After years - I was looking for a new medium which contains a certain materiality - I began to work with oil sticks on canvas. It was a real change and I had discovered a new way of expression. But the main thing was that I had to work slower now, especially on big sizes of canvas.
