"From the series of works under the title ‘Ubuntu’, this is a companion piece to Ancient and Alternative Narratives I and Ancient and Alternative Narratives III. Inspired by the ancient southern African philosophy of inter-connectedness and inter-dependence known as UBUNTU, offering an alternative to the individualism prevalent today.
The whole series of twelve were created as a whole, to be divided up and worked on individually. Each of these works can stand as individual pieces but function better as triptychs where the sense of interconnection can be felt more closely, thus echoing the philosophy embedded in their conception." – Sarah Knill-Jones
